West Midland American Vehicles Ltd was formed in the early 1970’s from a desire of an educated motor engineer with a passion for American built vehicles, together with the ability to take a standard production vehicle and produce specialised vehicles.

   Having formed the company with his business partners and the assistance of other employees who also had a passion for American vehicles, they set about putting the large 5.7 diesel engine produced by General Motors into British built Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

   From these early beginnings and with an eye for business, the partners realised that they could convert General Motors products to right hand drive and provide a highly powered vehicle for use in a number of roles (Fire and Rescue Vehicles for use by the UK Fire Brigades, armoured vehicles for use by the Ministry of Defence etc…) with the approval of General Motors.
   West Midland American Vehicles Ltd. continues to go from strength to strength under the management of Tim Deverall, David Whiles and Ivan Purchase.

   Located in Four Ashes Nr Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK we have full approval of General Motors for the sales, service, parts and conversions of their products.
